General Description

The charming owners Nico and Rachel discovered the property 25 years ago, perched dramatically on a rock in the middle of the wooded foothills of the Pyrenees, encircled on three sides by the river below. They fell in love and spent a long time restoring it. The property is tranquil and secluded, set in 22 acres of private grounds, yet it is only 45 minutes from Carcassonne airport and an hour and a quarter from Toulouse. The surrounding area is famous for its beauty, its Cathar castles and historic legacy. While the property is an imposing structure dating from the 18th century, inside the rooms are comfortable and homely. There is a separate private Chapel and an infinity pool. The river lulls you to sleep at night and the sun streams in through large windows in the mornings. The chateau is perfect to take for a week or two for your holiday with friends or family. Parties of 16 adults or 25 with children can be easily accommodated. But the place is equally comfortable, spacious and peaceful with just one or two couples. The house comprises two adjacent, connected buildings: the core of the old house and a newer wing. Both have been completely renovated and restored.
