Terrasson is a pretty town on the banks of the River Vezere, dominated by the Eglise Saint Sour. Weekly market stalls are set out across the Vieux Pont, there are guided tours of the old town, river boat trips, walks in the Jardins de l'Imaginaire, and even a chocolate museum to visit. The famous Lascaux Caves are nearby and should not be missed. The magnificent Chateau Hautefort is just 18 miles away; reputedly the best in the Dordogne, there are daily tours of the chateau and gardens, or try the night tours available in summer for an atmospheric evening out.
