General Description
This 18th century farmhouse ('Maison') is set in a quiet location and surrounded by wooded park pine covered with rosemary and thyme. Yet you are a few minutes drive from a picturesque village of Barbentane (2 kilometres) and a little further the city majestic city of Avignon.
The interiors of Maison have been sensitively restored exhumes full of character and charm alongside modern amenities. On the ground floor there is an entry hallway from which you can access the living areas and the garage. There is a large living-room / dining area of about 50 m²: the living room, elegantly furnished with a comfortable seating area and the dining area, with a dining table area seating up to 12 guests and a further sitting room area with two sofas around the open fireplace (wood supplied). A large kitchen in the Provencal style of about 20 m² is fully equipped with American-style refrigerator, gas stove, traditional oven, microwave oven, dishwasher with a smaller table seating 4-6 persons. There is also a gent's cloakroom with washbasin and WC. On the upper floor there are 4 cosy bedrooms, decorated with bright colours and sumptuous bed linen and with two bathrooms. Two of the bedrooms have King size beds and two further bedrooms with twin beds. A separate bathroom has the bath, shower and double washbasins and the other bathroom has shower and double washbasin. Separate WC.
In the summer French doors open up to the lovely south-facing terrace with seating area and a garden filled with the scent of rose and lavender. Just beyond, the swimming pool 14m x 5m, depth 1.20 to 2.00m, protection by electric cover, is perfect for your leisurely afternoons cooling off or enjoy long lunches by the pool house with dining table, outside shower, WC and fridge.

The landscape in this region is particularly picturesque, encompassing rolling hills dotted with quaint hilltop villages and countless hiking trails, extensive sunflower fields, olive groves and formidable area of vineyards This region is steep with history with plenty of sites to visit.
Situated just south of Avignon, you are perfectly positioned between the idyllic villages of Les Alpilles National Park to the south and the lovely city of Avignon to the north.
The local village of Barbentane (2 kilometres) has a picturesque old centre with pretty cafes and restaurants, a boulangerie and grocery shop. Also you can visit Château de Barbentane, the 'Trianon of Provence' with rare eighteenth century furniture. To the south is the lively village of St Rémy de Provence, at just 15 kilometres, a charming classical little town, capital of the Alpilles with all the amenities: boulangeries, little boutiques, quaint pavement cafes and excellent restaurants. On its winding cobbled lanes you will discover the small squares, historic buildings, churches and museums and on Wednesday the colourful weekly market will offer you the opportunity to discover local products and handicrafts which is a must to see. Further south is Les Baux de Provence (considered 'one of the most beautiful villages in France'), Arles, Nîmes, Pont du Gard and Uzès and other towns you can easily visit in a day, and at less than 45 minutes' drive, to the east, is the Luberon region and further south, Camargue's unique wetland populated by pink flamingos and wild horses. Avignon to the north with its UNESCO world heritage site, with its magnificent Palais du Papes, which is one of the architectural wonders of France is just 12 kilometres away and would make an ideal day trip. Just north of Avignon is the Châteauneuf-du-Pape region for wine lovers as well.
